A meeting of Victoria County Municipal Council was held at the Court House, Baddeck, on Wednesday, September 13, 2000, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

CALL TO ORDER
Warden MacInnes called the meeting to order.
REQUEST – ORANGEDALE STATION
A request was received from Raymond Johnston, Orangedale Station, concerning the original tool shed from the Orangedale Station. The tool shed is located on the municipally owned Bucklaw Garage property. Mr. Johnston indicated they are interested in obtaining the tool shed to restore on site at the Orangedale Station.
It was moved by Councillor Donovan, seconded by Deputy Warden Yetman, that the tool shed on the Bucklaw Garage property be given to the Orangedale Station. Motion carried.
FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT

A fax was received this afternoon from Kevin Finch, Department of Municipal Affairs, advising that Municipal Affairs Minister Angus MacIsaac and Tourism and Culture Minister Rodney MacDonald, will announce a provincial investment in Baddeck and the Municipality of the County of Victoria on Monday, September 18, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. at the Court House, Baddeck. Council is invited to attend this event. The announcement is concerning the Baddeck Sewer System.

DISTRICT CONCERNS
District #1
Deputy Warden Yetman was excused from the meeting at this time.
District #2
It was moved by Councillor Morrison, seconded by Councillor Sampson, that $1,000 be approved for the Middle River CAP Site; $1,000 for the Big Baddeck Community Hall; and $200 for Jimmie Parsons from the District #2 budget. Motion carried.
District #3
It was moved by Councillor Morrison, seconded by Councillor Sampson, that letters be forwarded to the Baddeck Landfill and the Cape North Transfer Station advising that items are not to be removed from the sites, as salvaging is not permitted. Motion carried.
District #5
Councillor Sampson requested that a public open period be included on the Boularderie Council agenda on October 2, 2000. This will be advertised prior to the meeting.
Councillor Sampson indicated that the computer for the Highland Coastal Mapping project will cost in excess of the approved $2,000.

It was moved by Councillor Sampson, seconded by Councillor MacLellan, that the invoice for the computer for Highland Coastal Mapping be direct billed to the Municipality and the amount exceeding the previously approved $2,000 be paid. Motion carried.
District #6
It was moved by Councillor Barron, seconded by Councillor Sampson, that $680 be approved from the District #6 budget for Seamount Development Corporation for fire and liability insurance for the old school at Ingonish Beach. Motion carried.
District #4
It was moved by Councillor Donovan, seconded by Councillor Sampson, that $500 be approved for the North River Heritage Memorial from the District #4 budget. Motion carried.
