The Baddeck Waste Management Facility and Dingwall Transfer Station are only open to businesses and contractors that have waste that is essential for disposal. If residential customers have material that is not part of our weekly curbside collection program arrangements can be made with a local contractor to bring the material in for disposal or wait until we resume full operations. Please note that heavy garbage has been rescheduled until early fall.

The Cape Breton Partnership is Cape Breton – Unama’ki’s private sector-led economic development organization, and administers economic development on behalf of The Municipality of the County of Victoria, the Cape Breton Regional Municipality, the Town of Port Hawkesbury, The Municipality of the Counties of Inverness and Richmond, and the First Nation communities of We’koqma’q, Eskasoni, Membertou and Wagmatcook.
With staff located across the island, the Cape Breton Partnership focuses on three things; promoting our Island as a great place to live and invest; growing a culture that celebrates creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship and connecting entrepreneurs and companies to the resources they need to succeed. To protect the health and wellness of the Cape Breton Partnership’s employees, clients and community, offices are temporarily closed however employees are working from home, committed to understanding what our economy will look like into the future, and exploring how best to support businesses now and going forward.
With several new government programs being announced, we know there will be many questions about how to access this support. The Cape Breton Partnership will work with our local businesses to navigate the many unknowns, and provide guidance and assistance as information becomes available. In the meantime, there are number of helpful COVID-19 business resources available on the Cape Breton Partnership’s website - https://capebretonpartnership.com/covid-19-resources/ .
In addition, the Partnership is able to provide supports for business in a wide range of other areas including business advisory services, training, exporting, networking, immigration, investment attraction initiatives and more.

With the COVID-19 restrictions on gathering and trail use, together with deteriorating conditions on the unfinished portion of trail, it has been decided to close the trail until the planned spring/summer work has been completed. In particular, the area around the brook is melting and the rain forecasted may make it unsuitable for use.
