Active Living & Recreation

Healthy communities are active communities. We as a county must provide the proper support and resources for our residents to create accessible spaces and to target residents in the places they live, work, and play. Recreation & Active Living strives to focus on the overall health and well-being of our communities by focusing on physical and mental health, social connection, proximity to nature, and arts, culture, and heritage.

Victoria County Recreation & Active Living Department assists community organizations with leadership & program development, healthy eating assistance, special event funding & more.  In order to be eligible for funding, community organizations must be incorporated as a non profit organization under the Registry of Joint Stock Companies in Nova Scotia.
